Only problem with Apple using a quad core is it would be 4x the price of a PC. :P

I don't use MAC computers myself but do I understand correctly that the higher end model is available by custom order only?

I know there is a certain eliteness that comes with owning a mac but I thought PC clones were making consumer choice a good thing, the way some companies offer all models as a basic configuration that can be customized. Like you can get the cheap budget PC but with that little extra something you need... You can also order the best they got and it will ship today!

I guess I'm not so much complaining as I am thinking they could just do better with more consumer choices... Why not support the customer that wants to tweak every little detail, as well as the one who needs the computer to ship now!

I realize MAC is suppose to be a closed system (they don't like the idea of mac clones) but I think there could be more options in their closed system... (actual mac users may feel differently)

Typical Apple not installing much ram. On a $1800 system should have 4G minimum.

Surprised they didn't throw a quad core in one of them, or as an option, just to be fancy...what with intel slashing the price of the older quad in half recently. Of course, the imac in not a personal computer, so maybe they don't fit on the board.
