My point was that Mustek makes crap, that is why Best Buy doesn’t carry it anymore - most of their scanners were returned as defective, as were their 7″ screen DVD players… I was told as much by a store manager. Same thing happens every time I see one gig DRAM memory drop $5 in price. I paid over $200 for 128Mb ram just a few years ago. Get over it. These HD recorders continue to improve and shrink, this model is surprisingly smaller than my current model which is an Aiptek HD-GO (I know, not the same company, but the same tech) It sports the same quality in construction, the same consistant output quality. My Cam cost just $140 just before Christmas 07, and gives me excellent playback IN HD! Output files are in .mov format, which makes editing and portability less of a challenge than other "proprietary" formats. Just because something is inexpensive doesn't make it bad. I'd like to give one a try.
