Amazon.com “Customers Vote” Sale to Return

By Michael Santo

You may recall that last year Amazon.com ran a promotion called “Customers Vote” in which customers voted on the discounts they would like to receive for particular products. Besides being wildly successful for Amazon.com, consumers got a chance at ridiculous deals (which sold out in minutes), like an Xbox 360 Core for $100, or even just a chance to get a hard to find Wii or PS3 for MSRP.
The holidays are here again and with that, so is the sale, though in a modified form. On Thursday, Nov. 15th Amazon will reveal all 18 “candidate” products. Each round will have three products “competing” to be offered at a great discount.
From the 15th through the 21st you can vote. And you can vote for all the rounds at the same time, if you like. But, you need to be careful with your vote; you’re only eligible for the product that you voted for, you only get one vote per round, and you can’t change your vote.
Then on November 22nd, Thanksgiving Day, though November 28th, Amazon.com will reveal the winners of each round. Besides the winner of the round, the other two items will get discounted to, but not to the (crazy) extent of the winner. Random drawings will determine which customers get a chance at the super deal.
We Say: One question from me is: six rounds would be the November 22nd - 27th. What’s happening on that seventh day? Typo on the site?
