Swapping CPUs?

Did you know that heatsink compound is frowned upon for long-term use? While considered fine if you’ll be swapping CPUs on a regular basis, apparently the compound can break down over time and provide an uneven contact surface. The preferred substance is thermal pads. Added bonus: thermal pads won’t accidentally wipe off on your fingers and stain the couch.
