Vista SP1 Pre-Beta in Circulation?

Rumor has it … well, it’s more than rumor really, that SP1 of Vista, in pre-Beta form, is out there.

I’ve been getting tips over the past couple of weeks from testers who said they had the promised pre-beta. The tipsters all were referencing different build numbers. My first guess was the secrecy-obsessed Windows Vista team might be providing different testers with different build numbers in order to trace leaks.

We Say: Interesting, if they really are supplying different build numbers to track leaks. Smacks of certain mobile devices that place cuts or marks around the device screen that will tell them, if you see them in a leaked photo, where the leak came from.
