Here is a quick recap of the gadgets we featured this week at GfG. The biggest item was the announcement of the smaller TiVo HD DVR. Coming in at a more affordable $300, this new HD recorder holds 180 hours of standard def and 20 of HD. In the computer department was the very cool and very light Toshiba Portege R500-S5003. It starts at 1.72lbs. Think about that for a second! Read on for still more gizmos.
In the Home Automation department (we love these things), were the Elk Emergency Water Shutoff Valve which in conjunction with a water sensor will … yes, shutoff the main water main, if you spring a leak in the house. Next up was the INSTEON Broan SmartSense Ventilation System. It doesn’t sound like much, but when you see it in action, you can be awed. In a nutshell, it automates air flow and filtration in/out of your house. Keep your valuables at home safe with this very affordable Biometric Safe (cool b/c it uses your fingerprints).
In the fun department, we had the Animated Transformers t-shirt. Did you see the movie? I heard it was amazing. Yeah, a movie based on a cartoon from the 80s! And finally, but not least, was the Archos 704 Wifi PMP. As far as Portable Media Players go, this thing rocks.
