AT&T Launches Cell-to-Cell Live Video (but not on the iPhone!)

Not only can you annoy your friends by sending them photos of stuff they don’t care about, now you can send them live videos, direct from cellphone to cellphone, at least if AT&T is your carrier.
AT&T Inc. on Tuesday launched what it said is the first service letting callers share live video between cell phones. Video Share was introduced in three markets — Atlanta, Dallas and San Antonio — to start with and will be available elsewhere in late July.
It works only on the company’s 3G, or third-generation, wireless network and requires a Video Share-capable phone, AT&T said. The company said it will offer Video Share service packs for $4.99 and $9.99 a month, depending on included minutes. Without a plan, the service costs 35 cents a minute. Source: Yahoo! News
We Say: iPhone buyer-to-be will be annoyed at the fact that it won’t be available on that device … because as indicated earlier, the iPhone will not support 3G.

Finally! Now I can finally get a crank call from someone’s penis! That’s just what everyone needs!
Not that I’m saying this is a worthless feature, but how much of this is really useful, most people use their cell phone while doing everything these days and a camera would only really look good IMO when you have a professional setup. With a camera on a tripod or other stable surface. Most cell phones videos are the shakiest things ever made because the phone has no way to make it stable.

Great! Now whoever calls me from the restroom can send a video of the event! Woo-hoo!
What a useless piece of junk — complete waste of bandwidth.

Ho hum, news? This feature has been available in outside the US for ages. We have had two video offerings in New Zealand for over a year.
