Robot Emcees South Korean Wedding

Robot Emcee

Asian countries are certainly ahead of us with their use of and research in robots. Examples would be Kansei, CB2, and RI-MAN. Now the manufacturer of Tiro says that he’s become the first robot to emcee a wedding.

Tiro the robot assisted at the wedding of Seok Gyeong-Jae, one of the engineers who designed it, and his bride at Daejeon, 130 kilometres (78 miles) south of Seoul.

“This is Tiro, master of ceremonies for today’s wedding,” the robot — featuring a cone-shaped body, two arms and a dark-glassed face with eyes and a mouth of flashing lights — said in front of smiling guests. Source: Breitbart.com

We Say: It does kind of look like Tiro has a cumberbund, but they could have at least made him a tux that matched the groom. On the other hand, maybe it’s not that they’re ahead of us in robotics, but that Asia the only place where you could talk a bride into making her wedding into a spectacle with a robot emcee. :-)

I apologize for going off topic here but I’ve always liked the south korean culture even though the korean war was before I was born but as an american, I think south korean women are very attractive and the guys over there really know their computer stuff!
