Konami to Launch Skincare Software for the Nintendo DS

By Michael Santo

I kid you not. I love some of the stuff on the DS, but come on. Konami, the video game company, has developed software for the Nintendo DS that will help with beauty tips. It’s called “Chizu Saeki’s Dream Beauty Skin” and will go on sale in October in Japan.

According to Dengeki, the game features Chizu Saeki as a virtual skin care advisor and has over an hour of how-to videos on subjects such as applying skin products and using makeup. Players will also be able to track their body temperature and hormonal balance for up to a year to better care for their skin. Source: Gaming Today

We Say: Somehow I don’t expect this to approach the sales of Nintendogs. :-) Perhaps Konami should stick to games.

Don’t underestimate the market for beauty products of all kinds, nor the willingness of many women to spend an inordinate amount of time and money chasing a perceived ideal. I can hardly walk through my house without tripping over some product my wife thinks will make her skin smoother, her lips fuller, her eyes bigger… Wait… I’m turning myself on…
