Safari for Windows Already Hacked
By Michael Santo

Just announced yesterday, Safari for Windows has already been hacked. And not by just one person, but by 3 security researchers, working independently.
It took security engineers perhaps less than two hours yesterday to introduce Apple’s surprise entry in the field of Windows browsers to the big, cruel world of exploits and vulnerabilities, following its introduction yesterday morning at WWDC. As a result, much of the clout Safari had received as the secure browsing alternative to Internet Explorer and Firefox — as long as it was on a Macintosh — was burned off like fire to a flash fuse. We Say: Let’s see, the BetaNews article lists David Maynor and Thor Larholm as finding one vulnerability, while News.com also lists Avi Raff as finding another. Welcome to the World of Windows browser vulnerabilities, Apple!

Druid says:
The root cause of vulnerabilities on Windows browsers is the OSes inability to protect memory, not an application problem per se. This only underscores the real issue - Windows foundational design is insecure (when compared to OS X). It should be no surprise that this occurred.

Druid says:
by your logic, safari is insecure, because it was build thinking of having security backed up by the OS….
Besides, security is provided by all mighty Unix, macosx is just the makeup.
