WiTricity - Wireless Energy to Power Your Gadgets!
By Martin Regtien

This is straight science fiction becoming reality before our very eyes: finally it looks like we’ll be able to get rid of all the charging cables cluttering our desks! That is if the technology developed by some US researchers gets a bit smaller and affordable. At least they’ve proven they can light a 60W light bulb (what? an old-fashioned and nearly outlawed incandescent light bulb?!) over a distance of two meters and through a wall!!
Have a read on DigitalReviews.net on how it works.

Nikola Tesla demonstrated this like a century ago. Maybe we need to reinvent the wheel at the right time just to sell it at a higher price.

Sounds cool, though I’d rather there be some thorough testing to ensure no adverse health effects (induced carcinomas, etc.).

Come on guys, give credit where credit is do! No matter how you disguise your work with fabricated theories, it is still the same experiments that Nikola Tesla and others have previously explored. Without wires, Tesla lighted a bank of 200 light bulbs that were 50 watts each from over 26 miles away during his Colorado Springs experiments in 1899! Beat that, all you nerds!

Yeah, and if you watch the movie ‘The Prestige’ you can see this acted out as well. You can bet there will be adverse effects if all that power is circulating around us.
