No, Really, Canada’s the Pirate, Eh …

Here we thought it was China and Russia that were the big culprits in terms of piracy. Turns out it was Canada all along. At least that’s what Warner Bros. says, as they are no longer going to hold promotional screenings of movies in Canada … and all press screenings will take place in a private room. All because of piracy.
While China and Russia often thought as the largest sources of pirated content, Warner Bros. claims Canada is the real problem. The company says 70 percent of its films have been pirated in Canada over the last 18 months. Those illegal — and often poor quality — copies are then sold around the world.
“The newly enacted policy represents the studio’s response to the lack of legislation in Canada to curtail the growing wave of camcorder-shot (”camcorded”) films being trafficked around the world,” Warner Bros. said in a statement. Source: BetaNews
We Say: OK, I’ve been having some fun with this story, but honestly … gak. Camcorded films suck for quality anyway … heh, heh. Now, if they were producing DVDs with the quality you see in China

You must be talking about the “Lower Level Watch List” that America recently released along with the “Top Priority Watch List” for piracy? Ten were added to the top list! Canada did not make it, but they made the lower list.
TOP LIST:
In addition to Russia and China, the 10 countries placed on the priority watch list were Argentina, Chile, Egypt, India,
Israel, Lebanon, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Venezuela.
LOWER LIST:
The countries placed on a lower-level watch list were Belarus, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Jamaica,
South Korea, Kuwait, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
