Geeks Review the Mvix MX-760HD

The Mvix Wireless HD Media Center (MX-760HD) is the latest media center product from Unicorn Information Systems Co. Ltd. featuring “outstanding visual quality, supported by leading-edge video decoding technologies, high resolution audio specifications and the capability from wireless connectivity to home and office networks”, the MX-760HD represents the next generation of the popular HD-based media centers.
The Geeks really took the MX-760HD through the paces testing video/audio/image playback from media stored on the internal drive, over the network (wireless and wired) as well as several USB devices including a USB flash drive, USB external drive and a USB DVD drive. The upgraded MX-760HD fared well with the new networking features, high definition output, additional CODECs and the redesigned remote control from the 5000U product. There were a couple of items that were marked as needing improvement including the user interface and the ability to turn the device into a NAS or at least add the ability to FTP to the device to transfer files over the network instead of just the USB2.0 port (this is heavily rumored to be in the next version of the firmware due out in the next few weeks).
