SQ Flash Memory Card

By Alice Hill
RealTechNews
Flash memory keeps getting smaller and smaller. Here’s a new storage device from Xmultiple Technologies called SQ Flash that uses a handy USB 2.0 sleeve to connect to a PC without a card reader. The memory chip also has gold-plated connectors on all four sides - meaning it could last 4 times as long, and the read/write speed on the fast capacity version is 60MB/s.

Psst…..secretly “a handy USB 2.0 sleeve” is no more than a new name for a card reader.

Instead of offering new really small (easy to lose) devices, why not focus of packing more memory onto reasonably sized flash drives?
I’d rather have a 100 gigabyte module the size of a grape than a 1 gigabyte the size of a salt grain.

I agree with “Mumblix Grumph”. These companies need to refocus their efforts on more storage on SD cards and stop the insanity in developing these.
What I really want is a solid state hard drive that has at least 600 terabytes for all the legal movies (wink) I have.

i dont get why they dont make
PCI flash cards that can do at least 150MB/s for readyboost, whats the point of ready boost if cant transfer faster than a hard drive.

8 gig usb stix with a 50MB/s data rate would be amazing, add to that
a remote control that detects were the usb key is by beeping sounds (when lost) the things are tiny enough to lose easy.
