1. I said that *I* and *others* (by no means inclusive of the entirety of the installed Windows userbase and most likely not including your mother) would like to get rid of the hundreds of entries for updates. Among other reasons this is desireable is the fact that every time I open the Add or Remove Programs module in the Control Panel, it takes forever to start due to all of the updates.

2. Expressing a desire for something is not "throwing a fit". Deal with it.

3. Apple updates the same way Microsoft does:

and besides, even if their update model was inferior to the one used by Microsoft, it would not mean by extension that the Windows update model isn't open to improvement.

Now why don't you get off your mother's computer and go to bed.

Definatly, my mom is really worried about the hidden system folders!

XP is what you bought, as long as they keep supplying bug and security fixes, why are you going to throw a fit?

Would ya prefer the apple model of buying a new OSX every year to make sure you get all the security updates?

The heck with that! I'm wanting Microsoft to issue a SP3 for XP. It should contain the over 100 critical security updates that have been issued since SP2. That way, I could get rid of the hundreds of hidden folders in the Windows folder and only have one. Sure, Microsoft wouldn't be making any money by doing this but it would sure go a long way towards making me and a lot of other people happy. Ain't gonna happen though.
