Singleringen: The Digital Signal Ring for Single People
By Alice Hill
RealTechNews
The biggest complaint from my single friends is not being able to tell who is actually available when out in public. Not everyone wears a wedding ring, people are in all sorts of relationships, so how does a single gal or guy find a mate?
And this is not the green shirt “Greenlighting“, collar-up sleaze approach we’ve seen in the past. We’re talking about how to signal tastefully. And most of all, can it even be done?
Before all you skeptical singles start to dismiss this chic little ring as some sort of for-desperates-only gimmick, listen up: the Singelringen-wearing community is currently growing at a rate of around 5,000 per month and there are 30,000 wearers in 17 countries worldwide. Even celebs are going gaga over Singelringen, and we’re not talking Surreal Life Z-listers, we’re talking Hollywood A-listers.
Singelringen Why? Well for starters the Singelringen looks pretty stylish. An outer band of azure acrylic is melded to a weighty silver ring which shines through a distinctive crescent cut into the acrylic. Each ring is also engraved with a unique code. This allows wearers to register online and stay up-to-date with the ever-expanding world of Singelringen.
We Say: Great idea if it doesn’t become creepy like those Viagra rings and condom earrings. And at $49.95 it’s a pretty cheap date. Source: Firebox.com via Gizmodo

Ummm yea, no thanks. Women don’t approach men, ring or no.
The only confusing part of rings nowadays is the trend of someone wearing a wedding ring on the right hand instead of the left. Seems to be culturally dependent.

John says:
What planet are you from? Women approach men all the time. That doesn’t eliminate the ‘metro-sexual’ aspect of this ring. Metro-sexual = stupid. No real man would wear such a thing - period. Hollywood types are paid to do such things and that’s why they’re doing what they’re doing.

Linda says:
Actually, I can assure you that NO ONE is getting paid to wear Singelringen. I’ve seen many “real men” enjoying their Singelringen.
