Trend Alert: Clear Wheels to Replace Spinners and Black Rims?

Spinning rims are already over and even the new black rims which are literally the new black in the automotive world are about to give way to clear. As in an all clear wheel made of 100% 2-inch thick polycarbonate from D’Vinci Forgiato. The company claims its Radurra line of wheels are just as strong as today’s top rims. A super cool version for motorcycles is also available, and the auto rims come in 20, 22 and 24 inch sizes. (Hey - what about my scooter?)
We Say: at $2,000 a wheel and with the mess most brakes generate, we don’t expect to see clearly on this one anytime soon. Cool idea though, especially on bikes. Source: Ministry of Tech

Neat idea, but yeah… Brake dust, chipping from stones and debris, moisture, etc etc… I’d say these are bound for show cars and little else.

Rims are different. great show item, but not very feasible for street use. Not sure how they would handle a tire blowing out, or very sharp turns where the tire shifts. But who knows.
