Former Sen. Edwards Tries to Cut in Line for a PS3 … or Does He?

Shoot, if you can’t use your political power to cut in line to get a Playstation 3, what good is it? Maybe it’s because he’s a former US Senator. But wait, the real story, according to Edwards, is that a volunteer, hearing that Edwards’ wife Elizabeth wanted a PS3, took it upon himself to go to Wal-Mart, and name-drop Edwards’ name at the same time. Why is this significant? Because Edwards is no fan of Wal-Mart and it’s policies toward its employees.
“Elizabeth and I knew nothing about this. He feels terrible about this. He made a mistake and he knows he should not have used my name,” Edwards said.
Wal-Mart had noted in a news release Thursday that on the same day Edwards was criticizing the company in a conference call with union-backed activists, the volunteer staff member had asked a Raleigh, N.C., electronics department manager to obtain a PS3 for the ex-senator’s family. We Say: Makes sense. Bottom line is, though, unless Edwards forks over some money to the people camping in line (and yes, some of them have been shot at), he’s most likely not going to get a PS3 … much like most of the rest of us.
