Moving your IE7 Menu Bar Back to the Top
By Yan Fortin

Since IE7 has been released, I heard a lot of people complain about its new interface, especially about the way the new menu section of the browser is designed. If you haven’t installed IE7 yet on your computer, you probably have never seen what I’m going to show you now:

Yes, that’s right. The menu bar is located UNDER the address one. Fortunately, if you also think that the address bar is out of place in its new location, the folks at [GAS] have came up with a way to put it back at the bottom of the menu section.
The first thing I noticed when I installed IE7 on my Windows box was the very inconvenient location of the address bar. Why the heck is it located above the menu bar? (File, edit, view, etc.) I don’t know what the folks at Microsoft thought when they designed IE7 that way, but this must be one of the most idiotic design decision they’ve ever made (For me at least).

What I don’t like about this fix (and why I tried it myself weeks ago and got rid of it) is it moves toolbars above the address bar line. I like Roboform right above the tab bar area.

Yeah, most users prefer to have it that way anyway..
In the end, people are better off using firefox

How often do people really use the menu bar in IE? I just keep it hidden.

Great. Now how about a way to get everything off of the tab bar but the tabs? IMO, this is the major design flaw of IE7 and is why I refuse to use it.
