[...] Nope, it wasn’t installation that was the problem. It was usage. And let me be frank … with only one of the two next-gen browsers. I mentioned this in my prior post about the IE7 download … Maxthon (latest … and it keeps moving so I won’t put a specific version) crashes silently to the desktop — and sometimes within seconds of launch. This didn’t happen with IE6 and I’ve used Maxthon as my default tabbed browser because I didn’t like switching back and forth between FF and an ActiveX-supporting browser (more later). More investigation at the forum at Maxthon’s website showed the silent crash happens to some people even with IE6 installed. But on my PCs (and I have a ton of ‘em), none of them crashed with IE6 and Maxthon. [...]

Maxthon works fine for me after the IE7 installation. It still has features that I can't do without like drag-to-search, ad-blockers... I hope similar things for IE show up.

*GROAN* Now I will have to make the rounds to explain to all of my friends and relatives how to reenable the menus. Thanks for shoving this down everybody's collective throats, Microsoft!

By the way, Firefox's implementation of tabbed browsing is vastly superior.

Just a quick recommendation to our readers: Wait a few days before setting it up on your boxes, and browse the blogosphere to get people's impression on the new release. One can never be too careful with new products, even if they were extensively tested previously.

IE7，Oh my God you are already here … but at Yahoo ?...

There really isn’t much to say about this.
I think people should all know IE7 is much hotter than its predecessor by now.
But what I don’t really expect is M$ let Y! to win the top prize here.
6 years, all the waiting press...
