"Too large for carry-on, sir." is enough to give a serious guitar player chills. This axe gives players the option of collapsing it down to briefcase size for easy no-hassle carry-on airport check-in. One can always carry a soft gig bag to put the fully extended guitar in for show and affectation if desired.

A small Steinberger will also allow easy carry-on with a soft bag (pending any new security weirdness); paired with a Roland MircoCube, one is ready to rock the world!

Half the fun of playing guitar is carrying the guitar case and having someone ask: "Whatcha playin?" Even if the case is empty when someone asks: "Whatcha got in the case?", one can reply slyly: " a '68 Status". Briefcases offer no such opportunity...this from a drummer ;>)

[...] Hehe… I came across this post over at Real Tech News this morning, and I thought I’d better share the goods with you all––it’s the Stow-Away Travel Guitar from Stewart Guitars. This electric guitar, which features an alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard and a trio of single-coil pickups, is apparently so collapsible you can fit it into a standard sized briefcase… as you can see from the photo, Stewart’s Clip-Joint neck connection system allows you to remove the entire neck and stow it right in the back of the guitar. Which got me thinking: pair this baby with a Pignose and you’ve got a full-on guitar/amp travel combo… sweet! Please Note: All hands-on reviews are clearly identified by the word "REVIEW:" appearing first in the title. All other articles on this website are for informational, educational, or humorous purposes. This web site is my personal weblog, and as such it is chock-full of opinion, bias, conjecture, and utter silliness. I make no guarantee as to the accuracy of the information presented here.
I suggest that you view the instructions movie at http://www.stewartguitars.com/images/StowAway%20MPG3%20for%20flash%2030.html

The strings are not removed, and whenever I play a guitar I always check the tuning anyway.
