Latest Windows Vista Build Available to Public

The latest build of Windows Vista, RC1 Build 5728, is now available to the public for download. Click here to get it. If you are not experienceing any problems, you may want to skip this update, as this release has not gone through the same internal testing process and could be unstable in certain situations.

I tested the 64-bit version of this build and came away impressed. A lot has improved since RC1. I didn’t notice any half-working drivers for my Marvell NIC and there were not glitch-like pauses in the GUI that were there in RC1. However, Counter-Strike did not like Vista…particularly in OpenGL mode. That’s probably due to Vista emulating OpenGL instead of natively supporting it. We’ll see when it comes out…
