I was initially bummed to hear about the cancellation, but it's been 10 years and they are still putting out some good stuff. I'd rather the show go out on a good note (a la Star Trek: TNG) than beating every possible dime out of the franchise (The Simpsons).

While Ben Browder is OK, Richard Dean Anderson is really who "made" the series work, and the chemistry with the rest of the team. Vala is fun, too, but it's just not the same without O'Neill around.

And, besides, Battlestar starts up again on the 5th of October ....

MGM has also said they are still looking for another channel to pick it up. SciFi just cancelled the broadcast, MGM owns the rights and can take it elsewhere.

I did read something funny on a site about it being a SciFi original show....hmmm...didnt it start on Showtime? :)

Mike

If they were going to cancel it they should have done it when Richard Dean Anderson left! That was a HUGE mistake letting him leave. Make him sign a 30 year contract next time :)

As a fan of the show, I am not too peeved about the cancellation. I would rather it go out with a bang while it is still good than it "jump the shark" and go down hill. 10 years is a good run.

Besides, from what I am reading, MGM has plans to turn it into a Star Trek-like franchise, so it is not dead yet.

It really didn't do much for Star Trek. I don't mean to be overly negative, but this will probably follow in its footsteps.
