Dropping 60 bucks on a next gen console game, I would like some replayability out of it. I understand that most games are supposed to be 10 to 20 hours of gaming? Bugger that. I would settle for a 10 hour game that had real replayability, either downloadable free addons or some fun mulitplayer capabilities or something to keep me coming back.

Nintendo aren't actaully competing with Sony or Microsoft. They make their bread and butter on handhelds, and the Wii is a totally new kind of system. It's not for gamers, it's for a whole new market that only Nintendo seems to have realised existed. More power to them, I hope it's a huge success.

The new Wii looks like the next big thing to come out of the gaming industry. There is a common misconception in the gaming world that graphis are all that matter. Unfortunately many of the games out right now with flashy graphics are not replayable. Let me ask you all something, how often do you replay most of your games. I have a funny feeling you will all say "I play Halo non stop" but ask yourselves this "what other games do you replay?" Your typical action game has no replay value, in my opinion civilization was the greatest game ever created, and it has sub par graphics. It's the greatest becuase of it's replay value, I to date have replayed every civ game atleast 1 million times totaling hundeds of millions of hours. Countless others around the world could also say the same. Getting back to my main point, graphics mean nothing, replay value is all that matters.

Having demoed it, I loved the controller. As far as graphics goes: pretty graphics mean nothing if that's all there is to the game. Nintendo, time and again, has proven that overall quality means more than the pixels used on create a life-like looking bimbo, and the lousy looking PS games that should never sell but do so like gang busters prove that too: it isn't about the grass that grows under the feet, or the foot prints you leave behind in the sand. If I wanted a game solely for graphical purposes, for any platform, I would buy "Watching Grass Grow 64".

I don't know about the rest of the world but I am pretty tired of playing the same games only with better graphics. If I wanna see something thats pretty and realistic I'll walk out my front door. Sony as a company is banking on the system doing well, when they announced the delay in europe their stock price fell along with everyone else's that is involved with the PS3. If I got 600$ to blow I'll just hook up my comp with some Dual SLI cards.

Yeah, it's more expensive than the game cube, but tacking on 1/4 of the last system's price compared to Sony Doubling the price of their last system and MS tacking on over a third of the cost of their last system, it's very cheap. As for graphics, if I want to see things that look realistic, I go outside.

So what if the graphics aren't as detailed as the PS3 or the XBox, that's not the issue, they don't try to compete on graphics. The Wii is going to be better because of improve useability and game desgin. Some people who are far too self concious to play a "cartoonish" mario game as opposed to Halo 3 forgot one fact, Mario is ****ing deadly fun.
