Terri Irwin’s Revenge Flash Game

The reaction to Steve “Crocodile Hunter” Irwin’s death has been all over the Internet, including reports that people are now killing stingrays. (A stingray killed Irwin.) Here’s a more wholesome way to vent your feelings - an online Flash-based game called “Terri Irwin’s Revenge.” Not sure if this is insulting or a good outlet, but as games go, it’s a simple side-scrollling shooter.

Steve Irwin was a guy who make a pretty good living out of provoking wild animals into instinctive defensive postures. Despite the good things he did along the way, the fact is it was his schtick that got him nailed. To exract revenge against a species either virually or in reality (per Alice’s link) is ludicrous. If you want a good side scroller get Jazz Jackrabbit and then lets get over Steve’s death.

The Fact Is, he wasn’t provoking this animal; he by all accounts didn’t even know it was there under the sand as he was out swimming.
Also a more accurate description of how he made his living would be “conservationist”. I take exception to the implication that he went into these situations intending to upset the animals. He always backed off if one became angry (snakes excepted but that was his specialty: herpatology), and he alwasy tried to be accepted by it first.
But I totally agree this isn’t the way to remember Steve-o. He just wouldn’t want it.

To “exract” revenge against a species is part of the rule of the wild. Do you really think a word like “ludicrous” is applicable in the way you applied it? They are just animals, kill them all and eat their raw flesh with the blood streaming down your chin.

Funny how he is referred to as a naturalist and conservationist and alround good-guy AFTER his death. Before that, he was notorious for risking his own life and p-ing off wild animals for the people’s amusement.

That game is like a slap in the face to Steve. He would not be happy about that game at all.
He died doing something that he loved and he would be very disappointed in the people who are blaming the stingray and for coming out with these stupid games.
