Hackers Break into AT&T Computer Systems; Customer Data Exposed

I’m starting to think I should just create a website with all my personal information on it and just show it to the world. After all, it seems like every other day there’s a new laptop lost, some website exposed, or some data hacked. In this case, hackers broke into one of AT&T’s computers and accessed personal data on approximately 19,000 of customers who used its online store.

The information that was illegally accessed includes credit card numbers, AT&T said in a statement. The cyberattack affects about 19,000 customers who purchased equipment for high-speed DSL Internet connections through AT&T’s Web site, the company said. Source: News.com

We Say: Huh, well I recently bolted from AT&T’s DSL service, though not because of privacy concerns or anything, but based on performance (yeah, I pay more, but I get much better speed … and no more annoying disconnects). I’ve had my ID stolen before and I don’t need hackers or data breaches (like at the student loan site not too long ago) to make me worry any more than I already d0. :-(
