Goggles: Google Maps Meets Flight Simulator

By David Johnston

Mark Caswell-Daniels has managed to use Google Maps satellite images to make a very entertaining flash-based flight simulator. While it’s no Microsoft Flight Simulator, this fun little game does have the advantage of being free and easy to play. You, as the player, get to pilot a simplistic bi-plane over many of Earth’s larger cities and even the Moon and Mars if you so desire. As you might have guessed, the game is hardly a realistic flight simulator but it is loads of fun and a great way to look at Google’s satellite images. Check Goggles out here. Enjoy!

Goggles is really cool and I love the fact that you can fire at the ground, or kamikaze, 911 style in a virtual attach on your workplace.
