Images of Purported Amazon Video Download Store Appear on Web
By Michael Santo

Images of what appear to be a new Amazon store, one for downloads of videos, have appeared on the web. The images, which first appeared at Kokogiak.com, show
a) what looks to be a video download store
b) the need for a special “Amazon Video Player”
c) special promotional pricing
d) that you will be able to watch the videos on portable devices as well as your PC … and your TV (somehow)
Other page images are here.
We Say: Rumors of an Amazon.com video download store have been around for months. The image linked above indicates that you can watch on your TV, but News.com states that although you can burn the video to a DVD, you can’t watch it on a DVD player. Confusing (to me anyway; maybe I’m missing something).

David Johnston says:
Perhaps the videos will be tied to your Amazon.com account and you’ll need to “log in” to your account (inside the proprietary Amazon.com player software) in order to view the movies. If the price is right, I’ll probably end up trying this service out.
