Introducing Paperghost…

By Chris Boyd
Contributing Writer, RealTechNews

As you might have guessed from the title, I’m the new guy here so I thought I’d better say hello!

I’m Chris Boyd, better known online as Paperghost and the Director of Malware Research for Facetime Security Labs. I specialise in finding new kinds of infections, then making as loud a noise as possible to get something done about it. I write at a number of different sites including Vitalsecurity.org, Revenews.com and Spywareguide.com - when the chance came along to write for Realtechnews, you better believe I made some space in my schedule! Primarily, I’ll be looking to add news about Adware, Spyware and Malware that doesn’t always get the coverage it deserves - hopefully I’ll keep things interesting for you and present information you wouldn’t normally find elsewhere.

Great to be aboard!

Re Zango - I also got more than I expected from these !!!!. Being new
to the Internet and searching for music I clicked on something and
had an icon in my system tray,a toolbar and my home page gone.I went
to Add\Remove Programs and could not remove.Hours later not knowing
what I was doing I fluked reset computer to a former date and that
worked BUT 180 Solutions Media Gateway X (who I believe are or were
connected) show up as a problem when I scan with Spybot. I have
immunized hoping to safeguard but cannot get rid of Adware hotbar [1]
(also connected to these two !!!!) from Microsoft Word where it shows
as a document but got rid of it from Microsoft Office, I think.
Still learning the hard way and troubleshooting as I can’t delete
because it says it is being used by another person or program. In a
perfect world they would be banned!
