Popularity Dialer Makes You Look … Well, Popular

Cell Phone

I’m still trying to decide if this is clever or sad. The Popularity Dialer is a website that, for free (!), will place a call to you with one side of a conversation, so that you can easily respond and pretend you are actually getting a phone call.

We Say: I suppose I would call it sad if a user were using this service to pretend to be popular. On the other hand, this could be modern way of getting a “Blind Date Escape Call” without having to get a friend to do it.

Well, I did read somewhere that many of the “conversations” you overhear people having on their cellphones are actually just made up. That somebody would even think to do something like this seems to lend credibility to that.

Beer-related radio commercial… “Nothing says ‘I’m important’ like yelling ‘I’m important’ on a cell phone.”

Just using it to look popular? that’s pretty lame. It seems like this would fit right in with ditchmail by youmail for the anti-bad date warchest though haha
