Regal Guest Response System Means No More Getting Up for the Usher

One of the reasons I don’t go to movies much any longer is the poor experience. Not only is the price too high for what you get (especially since I have a 65″ projection TV at home), the disruptive patrons one usually finds at the theatre don’t help. And if they’re talking too loud, talking on a cell phone or, as actually happened once, setting off fireworks in the theatre on the 4th of July, you have to get up and miss part of the movie to get an usher. Well, yesterday while driving home I heard something great. Regal is testing the Regal Guest Response System in 13 theatres nationwide. Since it was on a local station, I’m guessing one of the local theatres is among those, but I tuned in too late to hear more. But I had to know more, so off I went to search the news on the web.

If you want to have that good ol’ movie theater experience again, come to Deep Creek lake, in Garrett County MD.
The Ushers do several walk throughs… they smile and ask you about your movie when you exit…
Just a great little theater, IMHO.
