HotCaptcha, If You’re Tired of Text CAPTCHAs

HotCaptchaBy Michael Santo
Contributing Writer, RealTechNews

You may recall KittenAuth, which I wrote about in April, a CAPTCHA system based on … well, picking kittens out of all the other animals.

Here’s a variation on KittenAuth … pick out the three “hotties” in the group of nine at HotCaptcha.

We Say: Actually, kind of a ripoff of KittenAuth … and a lot more subjective, too. You can’t argue about which animals are kittens … at least, I don’t think you can. Also, it looks like the images are directly linked from HotOrNot.com, so I’m not sure it’s strictly legal. And I noticed the site went down right in the middle of writing this. At least they are fair enough to let you switch the gender of the test if you want. :-)

I tried it a few times, and I know I saw som of the same pictures reoccur within a few attempts. You may be able to foil this by checksuming the ugly pics (more uglys used, likely less ugly pics available).
