Let the Bot Park Your Car

Do you hate parking your car in tight spots? Would you rather let the car do it for you? Let BMW help with it’s parking-assist technology.
Driving your car into a cramped parking space can be a harrowing experience, but BMW says it has developed a robotic parking system to solve the problem.
The luxury carmaker’s parking-assist technology will park your car for you as you stand outside and watch, according to BMW during the demo of a working prototype at its Munich headquarters this week.
All you do is press down on a remote-control button and your Beamer parks itself. Source: Wired
We Say: This sounded pretty cool when I first read the headline, but you have to setup the area you want it to park in by placing a reflective lens against the wall at the head of the parking space. Youtube video included to show you the demonstration, which basically just consists of the car pulling itself straight into the garage. So, no, it will not parallel park for you. Oh well, if you are going to get a BMW anyway, I guess it’s a good add-on.
