High Tech Oil Cap for Motorcycles
By Michael Tate
AutoTech Specialist, RealTechNews
Oil is crucial to all internal combustion engines, and most motorcycles rely on an oil pressure switch, just like in cars, to guarantee the motor will at least WARN you that it’s going to have a catastrophic failure soon. But most manufacturers don’t usually give you any other way to tell much about what’s going on in the engine. Not to worry, someone has a tool. And I love tools.
Here’s an all-in-one gadget that measures oil remaining, measures the temp, and has a oil temp warning as well. And all of that is packed into the cap that replaces the bike’s regular oil filler cap.
We Say: Most motorcyclists really like simple stuff. This is a simple and innovative little solution. Nice.
Lighted LCD Oil Temp Gauge with Dipstick $89

John Corliss says:
Ridiculous. I paid about $15 for a non-digital (used a regular gauge) oil dipstick for my Harley years ago. It always worked just fine. Why pay $89 for something like this? Idiocy, I say. Definitely overpriced too.

That may be true Mr. Corliss, BUT the Rice Rocket crowd usually goes high tech, high tune, versus rough-n-ready hog.
