Shades of Maxwell Smart — Nike Shoes Talk to iPods
By Michael Santo

All right, all right. That was overhyped. I’m not talking about Maxwell Smart’s shoe phone or anything. The Nike shoes will talk to the iPod about how far a person has walked / run using the new wireless system called Nike+iPod.
Using a Nike+iPod Sports Kit, expected to retail for about $29, consumers will be able to access distance, time, pace and calories burned on the screen of a nano version of the iPod via a sensor inside the shoes that communicates with the digital music player. Source: Reuters via Yahoo! News
We Say: Whatever happened to manually calculating all this data?
On the other hand, since it works with the nano, it will be the perfect complement to the Nike Sport Armband! Can you say, increased sales? The first shoes designed to work with the system will be the Nike+ Air Zoom Moire. The kit should be available in the next two months.

Eric N. says:
This looks really interesting. And my I almost put in a pre-order, but then I realized I don’t have a Nano, and the available Nike+ shoes are ugly, and shox-less.
