Quite a few news bits that we didn’t think needed their own stories:
- Yahoo has gotten into the DVR game, by buying up a software DVR company, Meedio, and re-launching the product as Yahoo Go to TV. The sw turns your PC into a DVR; just hook your computer up to your TV/cable box. So far, it’s only in beta and it shows in the lack of hardware support and features. CNET reviews it.
- Skype has managed to snag 100 million customers, up from 50M in Sep 2005. Not bad.
- Internet2 researchers announced that they’ve set a new speed record - 8.8 gigabits per second. Download an entire movie in seconds. *drool*
