I use my late 70's Technics turntable and simply connect one of the line outs from the receiver to the line in on my sound card, aka the "analog hole". I also use WAV format for the initial recording, and then convert to MP3 to transfer the songs to my player.

The RIAA will probably sue to ban the sale of this, even though it is a fair use (as long as you keep the origninal vinyl).

This turntable is actually manufactured by numark, and is just being re-branded as ion, like all the rest of ion's products. Im sure youll have a bit more luck finding a Numark TTUSB.

Too bad the site doesn't provide a price AND the links to stores that supposedly sell the turntable either SUCK or don't work.

$140 at Amazon. Pretty cool. I have a sad box of LP's too, I mean really sad. My taste in music in the 80s was horrible. How could I have possibly enjoyed listening to Styx for goshsakes?
