Skins for your iRobot

Here’s a brief on an somewhat interesting market niche that no one thought of to exploit or even explore prior to this company: skins for iRobot’s Roomba and Scooba cleaning robots. You can get skins featuring professional sports teams from the NBA and MLB, college logos, or ten different colorful designs, or turn your photos into customized skins. So I can get Lakers logo on my Roomba, huh? Who knows? Maybe this *will* take off. Here’s the press release.

Actually four kids did think of this niche and started a company called myRoomBud ( www.myroombud.com ) last year. They make animal costumes by hand and have been selling them on eBay and Amazon for about half a year now. You can get a tiger, leopard, pig, ladybug, cow, rabbit, frog, or french maid.
