Self-Weighing Suitcase

If you travel a lot, especially for long periods of time, you know how annoying luggage weight restrictions can be. Everything may be fine at the start of the trip, but add a few items, and you’re sweating the weigh-in on your flight back home.
No longer. Here’s a suitcase with a built-in scale. Now you can tell when you’re close to that 50lbs. Either that or get a new job.
“It’s a stunningly simple solution to a very real problem,” says Michele Marini Pittenger, president of Travel Goods Association. Though fliers can weigh their bags at home before departing, “it’s more difficult on the return trip after you’ve accumulated souvenirs.”
Made of high-strength nylon, the Solutions line is the first-place winner of the Travel Goods Association Product Innovation Award. It comes in two sizes, 25 and 28 inches, and three colors — black, teal and berry. Both sizes cost about $200 (information: ricardobeverlyhills.com). It rolls out this month at Macy’s stores and will be at macys.com and ebags.com by month’s end. Source: USA Today

That is such a good point. It does look like a bomb countdown timer.

I hope the device does not weight more than a few ounces, batteries and all.
