Delay Windows Vista? Heck, Let’s Delay Office 2007 as Well

Hot on the heels of announcing a delay to Windows Vista, Microsoft today announced a bookend: Office 2007 is being delayed to next year as well. Some businesses may get corporate versions late in the year, but as far as retail shelves go, it’s wait until January 2007, just like Vista.
“We have, however, decided to coordinate with Windows Vista to hit retail store shelves in January 2007,” a Microsoft representative said in an e-mail to CNET News.com. “We believe this will provide an easier experience for consumers and retailers alike.”
By pushing out the Office launch date, however, Microsoft will regain the ability to launch the two products in tandem. Microsoft had been planning a massive fourth quarter launch for the products. Source: News.com
We Say: Microsoft sure spins things nicely. As with Vista (vendors didn’t want the OS introduced in the middle of holiday sales … ???) and here (so the products can be launched in tandem … which actually does make sense, by the way). Still, it makes you wonder what else they can delay. Hey, what about their new security products?

Benjamin Van Hoesen says:
I’m happy to wait. The longer the wait the more stable the product.. And yes this even applys to Microsoft.
