Want to try Firefox 2.0 Alpha 1 but don’t want to … ahem, screw up your current Firefox installation? I don’t blame you. Beta releases are bad enough, but Alpha releases … I tend to stay away from them. But, if you want to try it out, how about using Portable Firefox?

All you have to do is download the Portable Firefox 2.0 Alpha 1 file below. Then you unzip the file and browse for the file PortableFirefox.exe. Just execute that file and you will be running Firefox 2.0 Alpha 1! The profile is kept with the PortableFirefox folder so you don’t have to worry about messing up your other profile and the uninstallation process is simple…just delete the folder! We Say: Portable Firefox has been around for a while, but it’s nice to see the Alpha version of Firefox 2.0 get the portable treatment.
