Today Apple released a new iPod nano which offers 1 GB of storage. The new nano holds up to 240 songs or 150,000 photos and has all of the same features as the other nano’s. The new nano will sell for $149.

With the release of the new nano Apple also announced that the iPod shuffle will now be lowered to $69 for the one with 512mb of storage and $99 for the one with 1 GB of storage.

We Say: With the lowering of the price and storage capacity of the iPod nano one can only begin to wonder if the iPod shuffle will be the next iPod to be labeled with the term “obsolete”. For only $50 more than the 1 gig iPod shuffle you will be able to buy an iPod nano which has a screen and that is able to store photos. Time can only tell however you won’t see me buying a shuffle when I can have a nano for only $50 more.

I hate to be like this but allofmp3.com is selling their tunes for about $0.10 each. As long as they do that, iTunes and iPod are way over priced. To be honest at a dime a song it does not pay to own a HD player, just toss the songs you do not listen to.

As far as I know, allofmp3 is “legal”. I’d go on the assumption that it is until demonstrated otherwise. The Russian gov’t has already defended allofmp3’s legality, but I’m not completely sure of the whole story there.

    Apple Cuts prices on Ipod

Apple released a new version of the iPod Nano, which only holds 240 songs, down from 480 songs in the previous iPod Nano. The entry-level model costs only $149, about $50 less then the 2gig version, which holds twice as many songs.
