Help Your Dog Gain Weight While Exercising with the SnackShotz Treat Launcher

My female dog loves to play catch. She’s even got the outfielder thing down … I can throw a ball way up and far and she’ll circle around it like an outfielder and catch it. I’m sure she’d love this better … since it shoots edible treats (my male isn’t that good at catching, but I’m sure he’d make an exception for this).
The SnackShotz Treat Launcher (by Dogmatic) will launch Discos treats up to 12 feet. There’s even a video of it here.
We Say: I have a couple of problems with this. One, it’s bad to exercise a dog right after feeding (they can get bloat). In this case you’re exercising while feeding! Also, I don’t have any idea how many calories are in my dogs’ regular food, but I know how much to feed them so they stay at a pretty stable weight … and my female dog is allergic to wheat, as well. Without any info on the nutritional content of Discos … well, you get the point.
There’s no pricing info, but I’m sure this will follow the printer / ink model … the consumables (Discos) are where the company will make its money, especially since, as the site says, Discos are “the ONLY treat that works with the SnackShotz Treat Launcher.”

That’s pretty cool. I can see my Cairn Terrier getting hooked on that immediately. Hopefully, she would distinguish that one from my Ruger. I can see her now, when I’m taking it out to clean: “For gosh sakes, pull the trigger already!”

I’m gonna go off-topic here, someone said Cairn Terrier…You got a Cairn? I got TWO of them. I love ‘em like they’re my own kids. Every day when I come home from work, it’s like a Ringling Bros act at my house. Jumping, talking, wiggling, licking, chewing, extremely HAPPY dogs. I swear they can talk. I’m training Darcy to say “I love you” on cue, she’s almost got it down pat. It comes out as “Ah ruff ruuuuuuuu” mostly. The other dog, Roxy, has been known to go and “fake bark” at the back door in order to come back and steal a chewy bit from a distracted Darcy. Yep, that one is a smart dog. Roxie will also smile on cue (if you point your finger at her nose).
Wish I could post pics here, I’d thumbnail up a couple if I could. Darcy is a dead ringer for Toto, and Roxie, well,…if Frodo Baggins had a dog….she would be up for the role.

Forgot to tell you, I heard another name for the breed, heard them called Cairn Terrierists. It fits. My house sometimes looks like the stuffed animal toy box exploded, and I dont have any young kids living at home….
