The jWIN JX-MP93 Plays Music Directy From SD Memory Cards
By Alice Hill
RealTechNews
Yesterday we covered a device for your car that would play MP3’s directly from any USB flash drive. It makes sense after all - we all have tons of storage devices. What if you could just load some files and then play them from whatever storage medium you have lying around?
Today I found a new player from jWIN that uses tiny SD memory cards to do essentially the same thing - except this one is portable. The player was shown at CES but apparently the reps got surly when the gang from DAPreview tried to talke a picture. Go figure….
Here’s some much-needed info on the JX-MP93:
* Supported Memory Card: SD / MMC (up to 2GB)
* Power Source: 1 x “AAA” Battery (Not Included)Unit Weights: 0.05 lbs (w/o battery)
* Unit Dimensions (WHD): Approx. 2.1 x 0.6 x 2.1 (Inches)
* MP3 / WMA supported
* Supports ID3 Tag and Lyrics Display
* Bright LCD for Easy ReadabilityPrices range from $ 26.88 (no SD card included) to $ 90.88 (512MB SD card included) - although there’s probably going to be a “2GB bundle” as well. One can choose from several (5) colors. We suspect the formerly-mentioned rep doesn’t want you to know about all of this, though - so please don’t buy any JX-MP93s just yet. Source: dapReview

Our Verdict: jWIN’s JX-MP93s player is quirky and well priced, but Apple has nothing to worry about.

Anyone know if this thing also supports Ogg files? (It just says WMA.) If so, then I would definitely buy one. For that matter, any one know of any cheap mp3 players that support the Ogg format?

the day after thanksgiving, i got a sensa sandisk mp3 player similar to this for about $40.
it has 512 emory included, and you can add an sd memory card.
i have added 512 with a sd memory card, and if the prices come down i’ll get a gig or two card to add in.
