Tekkeon MyTalker ET7000 Makes Any Phone or iPod Bluetooth Compatible

I gripe about cell phones. My Motorola convinced me I had actual hearing loss until I switched to the Samsung P777. I tried the Nokia N90, but the signal strength in my home was nil, so snazzy features aside I was back to my trusty slider with no Bluetooth. Turns out you can add it in.

The Bluetooth gateway from Tekkeon, turns your iPod or MP3 player into a Bluetooth headset. This tiny accessory uses your own music headphones for your calls, so there’s no need to miss a call, or frantically juggle your headphones and mobile phone. You answer and make calls with a single touch of the gateway. And you have one-touch access to advanced calling features like last number redial, voice dialing, and call waiting.

The myTalker clips to your shirt or collar, and connects between your iPod or MP3 player, and your music headphones. The gateway uses Bluetooth v1.2 technology to communicate with your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. You answer and make calls directly from myTalker, so there’s no need to hold your phone. Simply store it anywhere in close proximity. Source: Tekkeon

We Say:
For $75 this is more than most cheapie cell phone handsets, but for the phones missing this feature, it might be worth your while.

I don’t get it… doesn’t this mean your phone still needs Bluetooth? I could me missing something.

But I love the idea of Bluetooth headphones that can connect to phones and MP3 players without wires. Now we just need some sort of light, small, rechargable battery so that they don’t need to be recharged as often.
