Does Mobile Me = iTunes Phone from Apple?

Apple has filed to trademark the phrase “Mobile Me” … speculation is this is leading up to an Apple iPod phone. One designed by Apple, and not one that simply licenses the FairPlay DRM as the ROKR E1 did (you may recall Alice’s earlier rant about it).
If you search the U.S. Patent Office site you can find the Mobile Me information. One of the filings says it relates to:
… handheld computers, personal digital assistants … electronic organizers, electronic notepads; telephones, mobile phones, videophones … character recognition software … handheld electronic devices for the wireless receipt and/or transmission of data; handheld electronic devices with video, phone, messaging, photo capturing and audio transmission functionality; software for the redirection of messages, e-mail, and/or other data to one or more handheld electronic devices; and so on.
We Say: This sounds like a heck of a lot more than an iTunes Phone. It sounds like … dare I say it … a Newton Phone with iPod features. Meaning a smartphone or PDA phone with iTunes built-in. If that’s the case, sign me up.

How can Apple be worth more than Dell?
Comment from Dell executive in 2004, regarding the iPod: “It’s a fine product, but why would we want to focus [much energy] on that little stuff. It’s like being the being the King of MousePads!”
