20 Years of Tetris

Earlier this year, Alice wrote about “Everything You’ve Always Wanted to Know About Tetris“. One thing not included in that list was the anniversary date. According to Pravda.ru, it’s now been 20 years since the highly addictive game was created, as of 12/4.
A couple more factoids not included in our original story: the developer of the game was Aleksey Pazhitnov. He received nothing for the first 10 years because the computer center of the Academy of Sciences owned the rights for the game.
I remember a Japanese schoolboy asked me to sign a Tetris cartridge for him. When I did so, he glued it in his game station. That was the best appreciation of my work that I could ever have,” Mr. Pazhitnov said. Source: Prava.ru
We Say: There’s nothing that needs to be said. This is one of the most addictive games ever!
