Xbox 360 Pricing Gone Wild: $6,000 Price Tags Now on eBay

As one of our readers put it, “a fool and his money….” Last night we covered the fact that Xbox 360 shortages were prompting people to turn to eBay for their new console fix, but eBay sellers sensing a goldmine have begun jacking up the pricing to un-heard of levels. We are talking dot com bubble stock levels, fool and his money levels, sucker born every minute levels.

Whew….you get the idea. Our question: is there anyone really that insanely stupid willing to pay that much for a console many are saying is rushed to market with no real hit games?

Some people just are too stupid. I looked at some normal auctions and they are getting 1800 dollars via bids. Couldn’t they just wait and donate the extra 1500 dollars to a Gulf Coast hurricane fund?

People are silly, besides, IMHO, all the next generation systems are overhyped. Time to pick up the older systems and games on the bargain bin.

How stupid are people? If people pay that price they deserver to get burned. XBox360 is a good system, but the games are ALL REHASH of previous versions.

Wait until mid-next year. People are just stupid.

All games are rehashes to some extent, it is just a matter of how well it is executed, but on the waiting part, yes, do that. :-) I didn’t for my PSP, I am feeling a bit bummed out by it, but at least I didn’t pay more than the system retails for. :)

Thought you were kidding, had to look. Nope, not kidding. OK, dig deeper. Checked “ending soonest”. mmmmm seems a few have dozens of bids. OK, check the bidders. Interesting, most all “winners” have little or no feedback or never before used E-bay. You don’t think those are bogus bids do you? Nah, couldn’t be. Could it?? I smell a rat.

Most people who buy ‘things’ at the drop of a hat even before it probably leaves the factory for retail need brag rights ‘big time’ so they would never wait for it to hit the stores or even wait for retail at any price near the listed price; i say most cause they have the money to ‘burn’ and its akin to billy gates not stooping down to pick a 100 dollar bill if he ever found one on the road, cause it aint worth his time, not so for many of us.But for the others who go out on a loan to buy this for the bling factor..those kind need to see a shrink ..real fast!

[…] Remember those incredibly high-priced Xbox 360 eBay auctions from last year? You’re not going to see anything like that for the PS3 or Wii this year, at least not yet, as eBay is enforcing their policy regarding pre-sales auctions and delivery dates, and has angered some sellers by doing so.
