Charge Your iPod with … Your Tackle Box?
By Michael Santo

Eclipse Solar Gear already has a lot of different solar products to charge your electronic devices. And they’ve just announced, available in December, two new products: a tackle box (the X-plorer Fishing Tackle Bag) and a camera bag (the “Ion” Camera/Video Gear Bag). According to the site, they will retail for $146 and $139, respectively.
Both products provide only 1.5W of power in direct sunlight, so they’re both strictly designed for trickle charging.
We Say: Because of some products we’ve seen lately, like the Soldius and the XPower Pocket Powerpack, I’m not all that sold on these products. The good thing is, if you already need a tackle box or camera bag anyway, you don’t have to carry anything extra. And if you’re out fishing, you might just want to keep “electronic device x” going and not care about charging it quickly. But the Soldius and XPower Pocket Powerpack a) provide more power, and b) seem much more versatile, at least to me … with the inconvenience of carrying something extra.

Interesting topic… I’m working in this industry myself and I don’t agree about this in 100%, but I added your page to my bookmarks and hope to see more interesting articles in the future
