Digg vs. Dot: Who Posted First, digg or Slashdot?

There’s a mini battle brewing between the user-generated content on Digg.com and the user-submitted and editor selected content on Slashdot.org. One camp says, set the people free and let them “digg” the best stories and surface the real news of the day. The other side says, send us your best stories and we’ll pick the winners for our audience. Both deal with user submitted content, which, if you follow all the “Web 2.0″ hype, is all the rage, and yet nothing new.
Today, I fond a site that keeps score on who is “cross-posting” or seeing a story on one site and then getting it up on the other sometimes verbatim. It’s ugly business, and so, we proudly present: Digg vs. Dot, a website that keeps score of who is truly breaking the news.

Our Verdict: Who really and truly cares? Both sites have their pros and cons, both contain great info, and both have given us nice boosts when they link to us, so in end, can’t we all just get along? We’ll take them all.
